Overall I wish I could rate this product higher but I really can’t. We registered for this product on our wedding registry and I fully regret it. While our vacuum/steam mop has worked, I think its design was not well executed.
The cord is short and wired to the base of the vacuum. Every time I do the upstairs of our home (900 square feet) I have to move the vacuum twice. This means the heating process starts over again when running the steam mop. Additionally, the spot where the cord is affixed to the bottom means that I am constantly stepping on the cord as a vacuum and mop. The cord should be towards the middle or top of the vacuum, not the bottom.
The vacuum and steam mop work well on hard floors but the vacuum is useless on area rugs. Without the “spinner” component that other vacuums have, this one hardly picks up anything on area rugs.
The canister is located toward the base of the vacuum. I originally didn’t think this was a big deal but it’s actually the worst design feature on this vacuum. The canister prevents you from being able to easily extend the vacuum under chairs, beds, and other furniture. Where does dog and cat hair like to accumulate? Under sofas and beds and other hard to reach places. The canister should be moved toward the top of the vacuum for easy of use under furniture.
Lack of accessories! I’ve never owned a pet vacuum that didn’t come with different attachments and accessories, until now. Why is there not an extender to have suction reach tight corners? Where the duster brush and upholstery attachments?
Overall I don’t think that this was actually designed by people who have pets. I would not be able to recommend this product to anyone I know with pets because of these issues.

It lasted six months something was wrong with the steaming mechanism so sent out another one six months later the same thing happened so now I am at my third unit and let’s see the lifespan of this when this dies no more the vacuum works well and the steam works well it just doesn’t last very long poor production

We have had two of these now and have liked them as far as the cleaning aspect.
Durability seems to be the issue. After about 18 months both of them started leaking when in steam mode. Thought the first one was a fluke so we ordered another. Same thing happened on second one. Too bad because we liked the way they cleaned. Have now moved on to something different.

My husband bought my sister and myself each a bissell symphony, and we are both very happy with them. We are in our late 60’s and have tile floors throughout our houses. We couldn’t believe what a great job the symphony did vacuuming and cleaning our floors, with very little effort on our parts.
The older I get, the harder it is to keep my house clean to my satisfaction. This has made one of the most back straining jobs I had a lot easier, and does a better job than vacuuming and separately mopping the floor with my Cuban mop. I will never be without this again. Not sure how long the symphony will last, but if it ever quits, I will happily buy another one.
